"Prima Doona is confrontationally confusing, and unsettlingly amusing. Written by Doona, with a little help from cult pulp-noir author Martin Millar, what starts as an apparently typical one-woman comedy show about the heroine’s marriage break-up and descent into life as a single parent while her career dwindles, suddenly does a volte-face. It twists into a cyclone of poignantly touching, and amusingly observed, episodes that hint at the real purpose of life. Whatever that may be. “What did I learn?’ Doon asks. She shows us."
