World Cup Final 1966 Squad Announced

Bristol Old Vic's summer spectacular World Cup Final 1966 announced its cast of eleven today. On the same day the official England team are announced.

Legendary goalie Gordon Banks is being played by Les Bubb who has worked on the first three Harry Potter films, toured with Take That and brought his award-winning physical performance style to a new generation, starring in Hububb for BBC1 from 1997-2002. He is also starring in this summer's animated move Tarzan.

Bristol Old Vic regulars Stewart Wright (Swallows and Amazons, ITV's Doc Martin), Zara Ramm (Treasure Island) and Tom Wainwright (The Boy Who Cried Wolf) are playing Ray Wilson, Geoff Hurst and Alan Ball respectively.

Returning from a hugely successful international tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream is Kyle Lima playing Jack Charlton.

Roy Weskin who starred in the original BAC production of World Cup Final 1966 ten years ago returns in the role of Bobby Charlton.

Neil Haigh (as Nobby Stiles), Brian Hargreaves (as Roger Hunt), Oliver Llewellyn-Jenkins (as Bobby Moore), Karla Shacklock (as Martin Peters) complete the squad and Glyn Grimstead takes the role of England's greatest ever manager, Alf Ramsey.

We can say with complete confidence that at Bristol Old Vic at least, England will win the World Cup this summer. Guaranteed.
