What to Expect

about image

When to arrive

We recommend you arrive with about 30 minutes to spare before curtain up to be sure of finding your seat, as shows start promptly and late comers will be refused admission until a suitable break in the performance. You are most welcome to arrive before this recommended time as our bars open an hour prior to performance.

Ticket Collection

Our Box Office is open Monday – Friday 10am – 6pm. For evening shows the box office will be manned for half an hour into the show for you to be able to pick your tickets up and for greeting the odd late comer.

Intervals

During the intervals you can buy drinks from either our Stalls Bar or our Upper Circle Bar, ice cream is also available. You can pre order your interval drinks on your first visit to either bar. No glass or cutlery is permitted in the auditorium.

Mobile phones and Cameras

Patrons are reminded that mobile phones should be turned off during the performance. Tape recorders, video recorders and cameras are not permitted at anytime during the performance.

Children at Bristol Old Vic

Children are very much welcome here at Bristol Old Vic and we would like their visit to be just as enjoyable as anybody else’s, so, we have a few guidelines to make it an easy one as well:

  • Management reserve the right to ask patrons to remove children from the auditorium if they are being seen as an interruption to the performance
  • Where performances are specifically for children the age range will be stated on our website and accompanying publicity.
  • Children under 5 will only be permitted to specified family shows
