The Spooky Ship

Presented by Brunel's SS Great Britain in collaboration with Bristol Old Vic

Step on board Brunel's SS Great Britain after-dark this Halloween and settle in for a good old-fashioned, Victorian fright-fest.

Follow your ghoulish guide and navigate the darkest nooks and crannies of Brunel's 174-year-old ship; explore the eerie sights, sounds and smells and watch out for characters lurking in the shadows, hoping to share their terrible tales with you.

In association with Bristol Old Vic, The Spooky Ship takes inspiration from the SS Great Britain's history and brings the ship vividly to life as professional actors roam the decks and ghostly figures from the past stalk the corridors, making it a nightmare to remember.

Please note that between 28-29 Oct there will be road closures and diversions on Cumberland Road. Please visit SS Great Britain's 'how to find us' page for further details.

Last year we began redevelopment works to transform our King Street entrance into a welcoming, vibrant space and build a brand new Studio theatre designed by award-winning architects Haworth Tompkins. During this time, it will be business as usual in the Theatre with our brilliant programme on offer, and we're taking our Studio programme on Walkabout around Bristol!

The Spooky Ship continues our Studio Walkabout Season, inspired by the city-wide partnerships created during the Theatre's first phase of refurbishment in 2011.

Please note the venue of this show is at Brunel's SS Great Britain. We hope you will join us as we stretch our legs across the city and continue to enjoy our brilliant studio programme.
