Elsie Wright can do no right.
Elsie Wright will not amount to much.
Elsie Wright will not make a dent on the world.

That's what they tell her.
That's what they say every day.

But she will show them.

Elsie Wright takes her camera to the bottom of the garden and takes photographs that make everyone sit up and take notice. She takes photographs that make the world gasp.

The Light Burns Blue is a story of photography, the construction of truth and believing what you want to believe.

Inspired by the story of the Cottingley Fairies and following the Bristol Old Vic Young Company's award-winning run of innovative work, The Light Burns Blue is the premiere of a new play by Silva Semerciyan, devised by the Young Company and directed by Lisa Gregan.

Commissioned by Tonic Theatre as part of its Platform series, an outstanding new series of scripts for schools and youth theatre groups that redress the balance of roles for young women.

The first Platform plays will be published by Nick Hern Books and go on sale from Summer 2015.

The Bristol Old Vic Young Company is made up of actors between the ages of 11 and 24 years old and all of them seem to be injected with a quiet and mature dedication to their talent"
